Life's A Drag... Artistic Looks, France S4 & Miss Bangkok!
Mona Lisa? I dressed as the artistic icon without a smile! My make-up artist and the camera filter both did me wrong but I stuck with the role. France returned with a steller fourth season with a first, their premier cis-woman entrant, 'Malawitte'. Bangkok will forever be worth of a title! 'Drag Race Down Under vs the World?' WOW's newest studio brought us a new season!
Sometimes we all need to change our stations? Yes, 2026s STEM Exhibition was my last at my then soon-to-be previous employer in Ningbo, China. I had been afforded the chance to Drag up several times both at the school during events and once at a Chinese New Year Gala event. My class had 'Art' as our theme because my then co-lead had a natural passion for creating masterpieces with our class, most of them had signed up to her after-school class. Our exhibition space would be an 'Art Gallery' and I proposed that I would transform myself into the legendary work of art, 'Mona Lisa'. I embraced the fact that I wouldn't be painting my own face but I sourced the outfit and wig by my own means once again, par for the course. I paid for my own make-up artist, I knew that I needed to learn how to beat my own face for the next time! The next time? This rummage around in my Drag bag would be the last for a long time! I knew other schools in China wouldn't be as onboard as my previous employer had been during those years.
I had my own photo frame to sit within, the other children were all dressed as artistic inserts from famous works and even the artists who painted them! I knew that the schools camera would drain any texture nor tone the make-up artist had painted onto my face. I took my own photos before the schools camera butchered my appearance, we're at the end of that road so I can be brutally honest! The parents from my class weren't shocked, they had been onboard with my final incarnation as we would all be leaving the school together. The wig line was offensive, I had forgotten to cut it off and without the communication skills, I allowed the make-up artist to paint a darker tone on-top. For me, I am at peace with the look because it was meant to be like that, it was raw and unpolished. The school had seen the last of my makeovers, I was done. I will remain happy that I went out as the Mona Lisa for the final Drag incarnation. There's no regrets, I owned the look and won't be the last queen with a wig line like that! The gallery is closed? Yes!
During a period of political turmoil in France, 'Drag Race France' returned with their fourth season during July 2026 with a certain 'boulangerie' theme. Stacked with a cast like we, the viewer had never seen before! The legacy of 'Victoria Scone' and 'Clover Bish' meant that 'Malawitte' became the first cis-woman to compete on the French franchise. American born queen, 'Creatine Price' presented her opera prowess but I am sure we will see her soon again! A friend of Nicky's? Yes, 'Holly White' declared she was nervous about her association with being friends with Nicky Doll. Representing Belgium by way of France, 'Daisy Superbitch' showed us what you truly can do with a chair! Impressive! 'Margarette' brought a Ukrainian flare to the show! 'La Harpie' was the comedian of the season from the very start! 'Fluffy Biddule' revealed some truths from her childhood and Trans acceptance. 'Sublyme' was a Drag genius, presenting a footballer on the Snatch Game! Who would get the golden baguette at the end of the week, F?
'Azemylia' was the dancing queen of the season, the Drag daughter of 'Ginger Bitch' from Season 2 also! Who took the crown? Making her one of the youngest winners within the whole Drag Race machine, 'Lana Cotta' became France's favourite Drag dessert! People have said that this season went by the book? Minding certain political Ps and Qs? I didn't know about that at the time of watching, it was all about French references and another class act 'Musidrag' from those fierce French girls! Music from this season became my main takeaway, clocking 'Champagne' by 'Suzane' and 'Clic Clic Pan Pan' by 'Yanns'. The 'Makeover, La Maison Du Drag' bore an organic energy with stories told by LGBT+ youth who had sought refuge in France with the help of 'Le Refuge' from former and current French colonies like 'Morocco' and 'Martinique'. Linking the 'Mona Lisa' with this season and my final Drag experience sounds very correct, as mentioned the French Rusical was really good! As per usual, the finale shone bright with the usual epic venue!
'Miss Bangkok' welcomes all to enjoy the delights of her Thai capital with a 'free and easy' attitude unless you mess with her 'Thai Smile!' Welcoming one and all with unconditional love bestowed to those from the LGBTQ+ community with the largest amount of 'gender-affirming' surgeries completed in the world! Yes, that is a fact! Marijuana is legal in Thailand, ensuring the streets of Bangkok are sensibly teaming with dispensaries taking those patrons higher! Of course, I did make friends with Mary Jane because I wasn't going to be no killjoy! Bangkok doesn't have her own beaches because she's what? Landlocked! This Thai capital city does have a show-stoppingly iconic river, known as the 'Chao Phraya', tourists come from far and wide to see the sunset over Wat Arun along the river. Bangkok isn't just about nightlife and noisy tuk tuks, there's a pocket of calm within Silom that I will always have time for! 'Lumphini Parks' natural features drowned out the noise of the city during my visit. Miss Bangkok forever is that bitch!
Bangkok's backstreets away from the tourist few made my heart smile, that bowl of Tom Yum soup was dynamite! I was able to see the bright lights of countless nightspots but clocking the Buddha along that infamous canal was my special moment shared with this endearing city. Diversity might be in the air but Bangkok doesn't care for tourists who aren't respectful, it has been amazing to witness Thailand as a whole expelling and making an example of unruly tourists. Miss Bangkok is booked and blessed, she doesn't need every kind of tourist spending it up, she wants respect and humility displayed by her fans! Temples and palaces can be found in Bangkok, making her shine undenial, I will never forget seeing the relaxed nature of the 'Reclining Buddha' during my first full day in Bangkok during February 2025! My second visit to the city was spicy but things were all conducted with perspective in mind, I can return in the future to Bangkok because she hasn't told me to 'Sashay Away!' Come as you are but be polite!
With 'UK vs. the World' decommissioned by the BBC, I wondered which franchise within the Drag Race machine would deliver next? A fifth season of 'Drag Race Down Under' had not been announced, had the franchise been cancelled? Not quite, from what the UK lost, both Australia, New Zealand and the world gained something spectacularly camp! 'Drag Race Down Under vs. the World' was announced on June 17, 2026 with a premiere date of July 24, 2026! Filmed in Lisbon, Portugal at one of WOW's newest overseas production studios, it was confirmed that it was cheaper to fly all the queens to Lisbon than run the operation from Auckland, New Zealand! That was maddening to hear but business is business! Competing queens hailed from Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, the UK, the USA and Spain! 'Raven' hadn't been part of the rumoured contestants but entered the Werk Room alongside the other competing queens! Was she a mole? We didn't know because RuPaul was supposedly on her book tour? Oh, the drama!
A plethora of challenges and gags were served up to us with queens serving looks like never before! Down Under's 'Art Simone', 'Coco Jumbo', 'VYBE', 'Nikita Iman' and 'Flor' represented the home nations, bringing comical 'Snatch Game' impersonations galore! Spain's 'Estrella Xtravaganza' loved her time on her second race but pledged to do it again on a Spanish speaking format! The UK and the Philippines both had lone representatives but 'Micahel Marouli' and 'M1ss Jade So' did their nations super proud with their unstoppable fashion and fighting spirit. The USA served the legendary 'Nicole Paige Brooks' who had not long been on a recent All Stars season judged by Mother Ru! 'Lala Ri' defended her shorter than short garment, she was unapologetic and hilarious during her run on the show! 'M1ss Jade So' hinted she wants her third incarnation to be judged by Ru! This was a strong addition to the fast disappearing 'vs. the World' franchise, I want to see a second season! Drag is all over the world, it's a phenomenon!
Drag Is My Game? Yes!
